One girl, three boys... creating fun, dance-able,
quirky and emotional music from the heart - music that feels as good as
it sounds. Painted Cities write and perform songs akin to all the
characters of the fair who grew up to become part of the Carnival -
different and twisted while unique and beautiful in their own
individual ways.
Hailing from the suburbs of Vancouver, BC -
Matt, Katie, Sol and John have shared the same unabated passion for
music since coming together in early 2006. Reminiscent of that
classic 90's sound, Painted Cities' songs bear an uncommon feel and
energy while retaining a consistency through memorable and dynamic song
structures. The foursome recorded their debut EP 'First Coat'
over the summer of 2007 with good friend and recording artist Tom
Prilesky (Wind Whistles, Definition).
With the release of
the band's first full-length album this summer, Painted Cities are
taking their act on the road and are finding themselves a rising bright
light on the horizon well beyond 2010.
