Bio
One girl, three boys. Making music that feels good
and sounds good. Music that is danceable, fun, quirky, emotional and
dark; Painted Cities sounds like all the characters at a fair who grew
up and became part of the Carnival; different and twisted but unique
and beautiful in their own ways.
LADIES AND GENTLEMAN, MAY I PRESENT TO YOU:
PAINTED CITIES!
Hailing from Vancouver, Matt, Katie,
Sol and John have shared the same passion for music since they came
together in 2006. Reminiscent of a 90's rock band, their songs are
unique in feel and energy while retaining a consistency through
memorable song structure. The foursome recorded their demo album "First
Coat," in 2007 with local musician and friend Tom Prilesky of The Wind
Whistles. With a sound that can be described as classic/quirky, tracks
such as "Carnival", "Acorns" and "Coffee Song" are featured on the
bands up-and-coming debut album, which is being recorded with Geraldo
Dominelli at Mushroom and Cobweb Studios. The ten song album is set to
be released in early 2010.
